Exploring frontiers While some of us push the limits of B&W photography and others explore color, Paolo Dalprato, Photographer investigates the intersection of the two. His Collections cover some unusual subjects.

Paolo has a lot to say about his philosophy of photography in the "About" link on his old Google+ Profile page:

"I have a very emotional approach to photography, I am convinced that the knowledge of the technique is fundamental, but it is just a tool to use to say something or convey emotions or just represent beauty...

"I also work in the music and most of the pictures are related to That environment, taken mostly during concerts of classical music but also jazz musicians, buskers and tango dancers. In this case, I try to portray the artist and not the person, in other words I portray the personage. And if there is even the musical instrument my idea is to Represent a strange animal, half man, half tool that together become the musician...

"And in this little world when I use the colors sometimes I do it using what I call the arrogance of color, because I try colors capable of becoming the leading agents, no matter what they cover.

"The challenge is to see where others do not see, in short, have the photographer's eye. The black and white I think it is important to highlight the forms, areas of light and shadow, the masses and voids and this help to achieve an emotional mood."
